The Houston Rockets are set to face two important games upcoming in a row and will need their star, Kevin Durant. Both franchises are the former teams of the four-time Olympic Gold medalist. Durant has played 14 games this season and has averaged 24.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.3 assists.
The Rockets, who are 4th in the Western Conference with a 10-4 record, are set to face the Suns next. Will the 37-year-old NBA icon be available in the franchise’s next game? Let's find out.
Will Kevin Durant play in Suns vs Rockets NBA 2025-26 game?
No. Kevin Durant will not play in the Phoenix Suns vs the Houston Rockets game on November 24 due to unknown circumstances. The forward has also been sidelined from the team’s next match against the Golden State Warriors. Hence, he will be sitting out of both of his former sides. Shams Charania wrote on his official X (formerly Twitter) account:
“Houston Rockets star Kevin Durant will miss Monday's game in Phoenix and Wednesday's contest in Golden State tending to a family matter, sources tell ESPN.”
Durant’s side will then play back-to-back games against the Utah Jazz following the road games against his former teams. The Rockets were beaten by the Denver Nuggets in their most recent game with a score of 109-112.
Durant was traded to the Rockets on the final day of the NBA season. In exchange for the basketball star, the Suns received Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, three selections in the 2025 NBA Draft (No. 10 pick Khaman Maluach, No. 31 pick Rasheer Fleming, No. 41 pick Koby Brea), and a 2026 second-round pick.
