The Los Angeles Lakers are set to face the Sacramento Kings at the season finale of the preseason games. The match is scheduled to take place at the home of JJ Redick’s side. Meanwhile, the Kings recently added Russell Westbrook to their roster, who has also played for the Lakers before. Fans are excited to know if the 36-year-old will feature in the game against his former team. 

Is Russell Westbrook playing in Kings vs Lakers pre-season game? 

It is expected that Westbrook will be appearing for the exhibition game against the Lakers on Friday, the team where he spent two seasons. In case the team holds him out of the lineup, he should be available for the regular season opener against the Phoenix Suns at PHX Arena. 

Meanwhile, this will be Westbrook’s seventh team in eight seasons after the former MVP signed a deal with the Kings entering his 18th season in the league. The American basketball player most recently played for the Denver Nuggets where he helped his side reach the Western Conference semifinals before falling to the eventual NBA champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Westbrook, who is known for his quickness, explosiveness and intensity, started in 36 games and averaged  13.3 points, 6.1 assists, and 4.9 rebounds off the bench. Additionally, he recorded a 32.3% three-point percentage, which was his highest since his MVP season in 2017. The player who became an integral part of the Los Angeles Clippers and the Nuggets is expected to play a pivotal role for the Kings as the regular season approaches.
