Story Highlights:

The Golden State Warriors lost to the Houston Rockets on Sunday.

The final score of the game was 106-96, in favour of the Rockets.

Stephen Curry managed to hit only three points in the game.

Stephen Curry had one of the quietest games in his long illustrious career on Sunday. The Houston Rockets were able to restrict the star guard to just 3 points on the night, which resulted in the Golden State Warriors losing the game 106-96 at the Chase Center. Curry not firing was always going to be detrimental for the Warriors, and while credit should go to the Rockets for containing him from start to finish, the Warriors' forward Jimmy Butler questioned the referees for going lenient on the defenders, who kept fouling him and still got away with it.

Jimmy Butler Questions Referee Calls

According to Jimmy Butler, Steph Curry was wronged by the officiating in the game. Butler expressed his disappointment with the refs by attributing it as "astounding" over the number of times he gets fouled and still the defenders, as Rockets in this case, get away with it.

“They did a good job of whatever you want to call it,” Butler said with a smirk. “I’ve never seen an individual get fouled more than he gets fouled. To me, I think that’s astounding. It’s crazy to say, but he’s used to it. It’s been happening to him his whole career. He’s found a way through it, around it, under it, whatever you want to call it.”

“I’m pretty sure it’s been happening for 16 straight years. It really angers me that he’s on my team and he gets hacked like that,” Butler added.

Butler did not mince words in voicing that his Warriors' teammate gets hard done on the floor and also stated that it is nothing new for the NBA's all-time three-point king.

Amen Thomoson took the onus to curb the movement of Curry. With the win the Rockets have climbed to the 2nd place in the West and the Warriors are tied for 5th. There is a chance that the two teams could square off in the postseason.
