The Denver Nuggets ended Golden State Warriors' terrific win run on Monday at the Chase Center. It was an incredible performance by the Nuggets as not only did they topple a formidable Warriors side, they did it without the services of star players, Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, and Christian Braun. While it came as a startling decision, as a contest against Warriors requires the best players to be present on the court, it still ended up being Denver's night.

'It’s just a horrible look for the league': Tim Bontemps
Not paying heed to the match, ESPN's senior NBA writer Tim Bontemps expressed the disappointment over Nuggets not fielding their best five. The absence of Nikola Jokic and Steph Curry in a high-stakes matchup left him visibly frustrated, and he lamented the Nuggets' choice to sit their stars in a premier showcase game.
“It’s just a horrible look for the league, and it’s a horrible situation because I was excited to see what I could learn from Golden State playing these guys. Instead, they have everybody out.” He said during an appearance on Get Up.
Bontemps complained that if Nuggets wanted to give their players some rest then they could have picked the game against the Wizards to do the same but instead they deprived the fans of a great contest by resting the mega attractions against the Warriors.
This news compounds the existing controversy surrounding the Thunder, who are under investigation by the NBA for potentially violating the Player Participation Policy by resting all five starters in a win against the Blazers two weeks prior.
