Ja Morant's strong comeback
Following the game, he spoke about what the night meant, both as a comeback and as his first overseas appearance.
"It felt good," Morant said. "Especially to be able to experience this, first time playing a real overseas game. We are here in London. I needed it."
Expanding on his comment, Morant spoke regarding the warmth he experienced from the London crowd, accepting that the energy in the arena made his return even more special.
"Just the love," Morant continued. "I am able to see that I not only got love back home. I got it over here too, fans constantly calling my name, cheering when I was scoring, that's big time."
This was Morant's second game of 2026, with the guard suiting up against the LA Lakers in the first game of the year. Having struggled with injuries all season, Morant seemed like himself on Sunday, guiding the team to the win with a double-double performance.
Memphis will pray to have him available on a more regular basis moving ahead as the team prepares for an important second half the season. Sitting 10th in the Western Conference with an 18-23 record, the Grizzlies need to have Morant available more regular if they are to make the playoffs come on May.
Ja Morant breaks silence on his future with Memphis Grizzlies
Ja Morant was pleased on Sunday as he made his comeback to the court. The Grizzlies' star guided led the team from the front as Memphis registered a statement win against the Orlando Magic.
While Morant's performance was a great one, it was his post-game remarks that grabbed headlines as he pledged his loyalty towards the Memphis Grizzlies.
"If anybody in here knows me, I’m a very loyal guy, I’ve got a logo on my back," Morant said. “That should tell you exactly where I want to be."
With the trade deadline coming close, Morant's name has dominated rumor mills across the league. On Sunday, though, he put that chatter to rest, making it clear his focus remains firmly on moving ahead with the Grizzlies.
