Jalen Brunson became a topic of discussion on Monday for his pep talk that led to nowhere as the New York Knicks reached the lowest point of their season. The Knicks looked hopeless in their loss against the Dallas Mavericks, as the Madison Square Garden crowd booed them.
Jalen Brunson's passionate pep talk
A pro lip reader found what Brunson said on the bench midway through the second quarter, with the Knicks down 49-37. He had a motivated speech about not giving up, trying to motivate his teammates up against his former team.
The Knicks superstar added:
"No one cares, just us. It's not this house, it's f**king us. It's about what they do or what he said, it's f**king us. Wake the f*ck up! Never show we's done! Don't say we f**ked, if we is, why's is it so f**king close?"
During the time of Brunson's pep talk, the New York Knicks were down by just 18 points, but it blew up to 30 points at halftime.
The Knicks did a great job in the second half, but they were booed out of Madison Square Garden when coach Mike Brown threw in the towel midway through the fourth quarter. They ended up losing by just 17 points, with the final score being 114-97.
As per ESPN's Ramona Shelburne, Brunson called a players-only meeting after their flop loss to the Dallas Mavericks. Shelburne claimed that the agenda of the meeting was to improve the team's play.
