Jimmy Butler has had a great start to his stint with the Golden State Warriors, but he remains tormented by the past. His transfer to Golden State marked the end of his tenure with the Heat. However, he is now in legal trouble after being sued for $650,000 in late rent and $125,000 in damages.

Butler's feud with the Heat appears to have extended beyond his professional connection with the franchise. The owner of his Miami Beach mansion is suing the six-time All-Star.

Butler signed the lease in August 2022, which ended in August 2024. The two parties agreed to rent for $65,000 per month, which would double to $130,000 if he stayed over the agreed-upon term without written consent.

The lawsuit claims that Butler allegedly left the house in terrible condition upon his exit.

Court documents state, “Butler caused $125,000 in damages, including mold issues, damaged drywall and flooring, an unmaintained pool, and a malfunctioning HVAC system. The lawsuit further claims Butler changed the locks and denied the property owner access for inspections.”

Butler wanted to move away from the turmoil surrounding his departure from Miami. Although it has followed him to Golden State, his performance has rekindled the Warriors' season.

The Warriors have looked an entirely different side since the arrival of Jimmy Butler in the squad. The forward has immensely improved the prospects of the GSW since arriving. Butler took no time to gel with Stephen Curry and the rest of the squad, and began performing from the world go. The Warriors are 7-1 since the deployment of the former Miami star.

After ending his long stint with the Miami Heat, where things did not end on a positive note, Jimmy Butler did not the fallout with the Heat affect his performance and straight-up stepped for the new challenge. He took no time to settle in and showcased results from the outset. In the seven games he has played so far in the Warriors jersey, Butler has averaged more than 20 points in each of the games.
