Fans hissing is not a new event, as it is mostly a one-sided interaction. However, Kevin Durant opted to choose the other way with a heckler in Detroit, dropping an all-time NSFW clapback.
The exchange took place in the second quarter of Houston's clash with the Detroit Pistons. As Kevin Durant stepped to the free-throw line, a fan seated behind the basket started booing him, drawing a blunt response from the star player.
Following sinking his first attempt, Durant turned and fired back with a profanity-laced retort.
"You can s*ck my d*ck," Durant chirped. "You a grown man. Grown man on my d*ck all night."
Apart from getting a harsh reply by Durant, the heckler also fired him for the rest of the game. After an 18-point first half. Durant exploded in the second, finishing the game with 32 points and 7 rebounds as the Rockets claimed a 111-104 win at Little Caesars Arena.
The win put an end to Detroit's four-game streak and offered Houston a timely response after its 128-122 overtime defeat against the Philadelphia 76ers. With the result, the Rockets wrapped up their brief two-game trip through the East at 1-1 and now will come back home having gained some momentum.
Houston now turns its attention to a clash with the Memphis Grizzlies as it continues its push up the Western Conference table. The Rockets sit at 27-16 on the season, good for fourth place and firmly in the playoff mix.
Detroit, despite the defeat, stays atop the Eastern Conference, holding a great 4.5-game cushion over the Boston Celtics.
Kevin Durant weighs in on Rockets' rebound win after Overtime loss
The Houston Rockets made it four wins out of five wins over the Detroit Pistons on Friday. The result led them to comeback from a heartbreaking overtime defeat against the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday and improved their road record to 12-13 on the season.
Kevin Durant expressed his opinion after the game.
"It felt like we made some good adjustments last night," KD said (Timestamp: 0:07). "I felt like they (Philly) just made a couple more plays than us to win that game. So tonight, we wanted to come with that same type of intensity that we had, but make sure we finish those plays ... I think we did those two things pretty well and were able to get a good win."
The Rockets will return home for a two-game homestand where they will face the Grizzlies and the San Antonio Spurs.
