Story Highlights:

Luka Doncic sits out his fourth straight game with a left hamstring issue but remains hopeful of playing in the All-Star Game.

LeBron James, Austin Reaves and Marcus Smart are cleared to return as the Lakers host Dallas at Crypto.com Arena.

The LA Lakers will miss Luka Doncic's services for their last game before the eight-day All-Star break. The Purple and Gold will lock horns with the Dallas Mavericks without their offensive master, as Doncic misses his fourth straight game because of a left hamstring injury.

Latest update on Luka Doncic

The Slovenian point guard has not fully recovered from his latest injury blow and continues to  recover behind the scenes. Despite the concerns regarding his health, Doncic has not been ruled out of the All-Star game as he is hopeful of taking part in the weekend festival in Los Angeles.

Boost from LeBron James, Austin Reaves and Marcus Smart's comeback

On the other hand, the Lakers did not place LeBron James, Austin Reaves and Marcus Smart on the injury report following Wednesday's practice. All three players missed the last game against the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday. James was on the sidelines because of left foot arthritis, Reaves was sidelined because of a left calf injury, and Smart was out with a right ankle soreness.

Latest update on Deandre Ayton

Deandre Ayton was placed as questionable on the injury report once again as he is recovering from right knee soreness. He missed the match against San Antonio, and a final confirmation on his status for the Mavericks game will be known right before the start.

With James and Reaves coming back, the Lakers are aiming to win on their home floor against an injury-ravaged Mavericks squad. The Lakers need to defend well and avoid mistakes as much as possible to ensure the All-Star break on a good note.
