NBA Insider Reveals Lakers' Concern with Luka Doncic
While Luka Doncic is complementing LeBron James superbly on the court, the Lakers want more from him than just adjust to the play of King James. According to the NBA insider Sam Amick, the Lakers want their new superstar to imbibe the work ethic of their talisman as well. The concerns have stemmed from the claims that Doncic's former franchise made about him and him in turn solidifying the doubts by enjoying hookah and beer upon arrival to Los Angeles.
Amick stated that the Mavericks were concerned Doncic's body might begin to break down within the next several years if he continued on his present course. According to The Athletic, the Lakers hope that their new superstar may learn from LeBron James' work ethic.
LeBron James' dedication towards the game is second to none. James has dominated the circuit for 22 years and is still going strong at the age of 40. His discipline and hard work has contributed to his longevity and the Lakers want Doncic to learn from the best, who happens to be his teammate.
Despite the fact that Doncic has yet to reach his prime, the LA Lakers have already prioritized his long-term health.
“There is certainly a narrative that Luka is going to physically fall apart physically…the Lakers are certainly hoping that Luka leans into LeBron and picks up on his habits,” Amick said on FanDuel TV’s Run It Back.
The conditioning concerns aside, there is no flaw in the game of Luka Doncic. The 25-year-old is capitalising on the momentum and slowly but surely becoming the trump card for which the franchise splurged heavily.
