LeBron James finally made his eagerly-awaited return on the basketball court on Tuesday, and the Los Angeles Lakers superstar has already created a historic record. The forward had missed the training camp, the entire pre-season matches, and the 1st month of the ongoing NBA season. But when he returned, he returned with a historic record!
LeBron James creates historic record soon after 23rd season debut for Lakers
James took the court during the home game at Crypto Arena against the Utah Jazz and began his 23rd season in the National Basketball League. Following this, the basketball legend added yet another record to his illustrious resumé – the longest career in league history.
Ahead of his comeback on Tuesday, he was tied up with Vince Carter, who played 22 NBA seasons from 1998 to 2020. The No. 23 scored 11 points and 12 assists after his return to the game. He recorded a three-pointer from the wing early in the second quarter, which was his first points of the history-making campaign.
The Lakers are back on track this season, it seems as they stand fourth in the Western Conference with an 11-4 record. Luka Doncic has been the star for the Lakers, constantly in the absence of the big man. Against Jazz, the Slovenian scored team team-high 37 points and 10 assists to help JJ Redick’s side win 140-126.
It is expected that the Lakers are going to make a beast team this season as James has returned. The 17-time NBA champions will face the Jazz again in the away game will be played at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City.
