The veteran guard of Los Angeles Lakers, LeBron James has been one of the greatest player in the history of the sport. He is competing in his record-equaling 22nd season as the four-time NBA champion has created and broke records. But, his one record is on the verge of coming to an end.

What record by LeBron James is coming to an end?

With the 2024-25 regular season coming to an end, one long-standing record that has spanned two decades is coming to an end. James has had at least 25 points per game since his sophomore season with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

That season, James had averaged 27.2 points, 7.4 rebounds and 7.2 assists per game. The only time he failed to achieve the 25 point mark was in his rookie season where he averaged 20.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game.

In the ongoing season, James has averaged 24.4 points, 8.2 assists and 7.7 rebounds, shooting 51.3%. On top of it, Lakers have avoided the Play-In tournament for the first time since two seasons, clinching the third spot in the Western Conference.

On Friday night, the Lakers defeated Houston Rockets 140-109 as it was their 50th win in a season since 2020.

In the win against the Houston Rockets, James sat out the remainder of the game after appearing to tweak his groin in the third quarter. He has been suffering from a groin issue which has saw him miss seven games last month.

JJ Redick says LeBron James is fine despite looking like he tweaked his left groin, Buha tweeted.

James ended the match against Rockets with just 14 points, four rebounds and eight assists. He will not take part in the clash against Portland Trail Blazers, which will be the last regular season game for the Lakers.
