The Los Angeles Sparks are all set to host Connecticut Sun on Sunday, July 13th at the Crypto.com Arena, Los Angeles, California. The main talking point from the Los Angeles Sparks point of view would be whether Cameron Brink starts against the Connecticut Sun or not.
Will Cameron Brink play against Connecticut Sun?
The 23-year-old forward will not be available to play the Sunday's encounter against the Connecticut Sun. The number two pick from 2024 draft has not played even a single game this year as she is in rehab from the season-ending injury she suffered last campaign. According to John W. Davis from Long Beach Press, Brink is expected to return before the end of July.
The forward tore her ACL while playing against Connecticut Sun in June 2024. Since then, she has been in rehab and eyeing to make her long anticipated return. Due to her injury, she even missed the opportunity to play in the inaugural Unrivaled season. Brink had signed for Lunar Owls BC from the 3X3 basketball league and was expected to start for them in the Unrivaled season.
However, a few week's before the first game of 3X3 league, Brink decided to first fully recover and then make her return to the court. The Los Angeles Sparks were able to land Kelsey Plum during the offseason. It was the franchise's plan to pair her up with No. 2 pick. However, that has not happened even once as Brink will be out of action for some more time.
On the other hand, the Connecticut Sun will be without the services of Jaelyn Brown and Marina Mabrey. Brown is sidelined due to illness and Mabrey is out due to a knee issue. She will miss three more games for the Sun.
