Luka Doncic Injury Report
Luka Doncic will remain out for tonight's match. The Slovenian is still nursing the injury that he suffered during the Christmas Day encounter against the Minnesota Timberwolves, and it will take him more time to recover. However, there is an optimistic development related to his recovery. Recently, Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd addressed the injury of his showstopper and made it known that he is recuperating well and taking the right steps for the ultimate return.
“Looks great. I think he’s trending in the right direction, he’s doing everything he’s supposed to do," Kidd said. "He’s been out long enough. This is probably the longest he’s ever been out, so I think it’s safe to say he’d like to be back."
Doncic's impact on the team could be gauged from the numbers he has presented. Before getting injured, the 31-year-old averaged 28.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 7.3 assists per game. Thus, the impact was always going to be palpable, and it is visible as Dallas has won only five of its last 17 games. While the team is struggling in the absence of its star man, Luka Doncic is set to return soon. According to reports, the Slovenian can return to the court before the All-Star break.
