Fans await to witness LeBron James and Luka Doncic play alongside.

A week ago, if someone had predicted that soon the Dallas Mavericks would trade their talisman Luka Doncic to the LA Lakers and get Anthony Davis in return in a three-team deal which would also involve the Utah Jazz, one would have described the act as delusional. However, it is what it is and the hard-hitting reality has left the Mavs fans in total dismay, compelling them to call Doncic's exit as an end of an era for the franchise. For the Lakers, a fresh lot of possibilities are in the offing and since the Lakers are scheduled to play their Neighbours LA Clippers tonight, there is heavy anticipation that Luka Doncic's stint with the Lakers could commence today. Thus, is it the case? Will Luka Doncic make his debut for the Lakers tonight?

Luka Doncic Injury Report

Luka Doncic has remained out since picking the calf injury on Christmas Day against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Slovenian has shown great recovery and will return to the court soon. Unfortunately, today will not be the day when he will make his LA Lakers debut. Nevertheless, the day is not far. According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the star guard will likely make his premiere appearance for the Lakers this Saturday against the Indiana Pacers.

The Lakers pulled off Luka Doncic's trade by giving away Anthony Davis to the Dallas Mavericks. The stats of Doncic may have convinced Rob Pelinka to go the extra distance for Doncic. Doncic was balling like he usually does ahead of getting injured. He has so far averaged 28.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 7.3 assists per game. Hence, he is a complete package for any team, something which the Mavericks will miss out on now. His departure due to injury had caused a monumental impact on the Mavericks, who have won only seven games out of the 24 they have played since the December 25th game against the Timberwolves.
