Luka Doncic, who was shockingly traded to the LA Lakers ahead of the trade deadline, has apparently given more space for Kyrie Irving and Klay Thompson to flourish and shine, as per Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd. It took more than a minute for the fans to digest the fact that the Mavs have offloaded their generational talent. The move saw Mavericks receiving severe backlash as even Doncic was unaware of the franchise's plans. However, as the dust has settled on the transfer, the reactionary period is also seemingly over, now more opinions from the Mavs side are emanating revealing why they took such a brave decision.

Mavericks Head Coach Jason Kidd Opens Up On Luka Doncic's Departure
In the process, Mavericks head coach, Jason Kidd, has also opened up on Luka Doncic's transfer and subtly pointed out that the Sloevian was responsible for Kyrie Irving and Klay Thompson's struggles. Though he did not take the star guard's name, he wisely attributed him as the "player we traded"
“(Kyrie) is gonna get more shots, Klay will get more shots, everybody will get more shots just because of the player that we traded. He was involved in everything,” Kidd said.
Kidd's comment may fuel anger among the fans as during his stay in Dallas, Luka gained a huge fan following, which may remain loyal to him even when he has been shifted to Los Angeles.
Luka Doncic made his debut for the Lakers this week. He played 24 minutes against the Utah Jazz in his premiere appearance in golden and purple and contributed to the Lakers' win. He scored 14 points in the game and registered four rebounds and as many assists. Although Doncic has almost recovered from the calf injury he suffered back in December against the Minnesota Timberwolves, he still gets listed in the injury report. Thus, he is yet to become 100% fit. Doncic's debut game with the Lakers also saw him sharing the court with the NBA legend LeBron James, a sight that fans will behold for years to come.
