The Memphis Grizzlies will lock horns with the San Antonio Spurs in a clash between two injury-hit teams on Tuesday. Ja Morant leads the Grizzlies' injury report.
Latest update on Ja Morant
Ja Morant was diagnosed with a Grand 1 right calf strain and will stay on the sidelines for a minimum of two weeks. The point guard picked up the injury in the last game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, forcing him to exit the game in the first quarter.
Latest update on Zach Edey and Cedric Coward
Zach Edey, will stay on minute restrictions. He recently came out from an ankle injury and will slowly ramp up on his workload. Cedric Coward, who has not missed a single clash this season, is also staying on the minutes restrictions after recently complaining of a stress reaction on his foot. Both players played 25 minutes against Cleveland.
"It’s a challenging situation because both guys (Edey and Coward) have done a great job for us," Grizzlies coach Tuomas Iisalo said after Monday's practice, as quoted by Damichael Cole of The Commercial Appeal.
"We would like to play them a lot. Both guys are also starting for us. But at the same time, we have to be smart because their future is also very important for us."
List of ruled out players
Meanwhile, Brandon Clarke, Ty Jerome, Scotty Pippen Jr. and Javon Small will stay on the sidelines. Clarke is out with a right knee injury, Jerome is facing a right calf strain, Pippen Jr. is recovering following surgery on an injured left great toe and Small is out with a left turf toe injury.
