According to the aforementioned source, it has been called a “structure fire,” and two structures on the property were “fully involved” in the fire. The report further says that some of it is due to ‘partial collapse” of the property, and unfortunately, the head coach seemingly has lost his home due to the fire.
It has been reported by the officials to the Associated Press that more than 20 units—both ground and air—responded to the fire. However, the fire did not affect any other house in the neighborhood. According to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Victoria Byrd, when the emergency arrived, the fire was "as tall as the trees."

Although it might be a total loss for the 55-year-old, what comes as a relief is that no injuries were reported. The Heat coach looked helpless and distraught as he couldn't do anything about it to save his house. Additionally, it has been reported that the franchise assistant coach, Chris Quinn, was also spotted at the disturbing scene.
Spoelstra had purchased the five-bedroom, six-bathroom residence property in December 2023, three months after his divorce from his former wife, Nikki Sapp.
