Highlights:

Mavericks traded Luka Doncic to LA Lakers in the trade deadline of February.

On account of incessant injuries, the Lakers have continuously struggled this season.

The Dallas Mavericks have been struck by major ill-fate this season. First, they lost the face of the franchise, Luka Doncic, to the LA Lakers, a trade move that will be remembered for ages, then it was the string of injuries that completely hampered their season. Anthony Davis got injured in his debut game for the Mavericks and most recently it was Kyrie Irving, who sustained a season-ending in the form of an ACL tear. Having been plagued by the injuries, the Mavericks are struggling to find success on the court and are scrambling at 10th position in the Western Conference. Things cannot go any worse for the Mavericks now.

Mavericks Have Hit the Rock-Bottom

The Mavericks' season is seemingly over. They have a long journey ahead of them, and given the uncertainty surrounding the squad, fans are going to be quite nervous.

Fortunately, according to Insider Mike Curtis, fans should not expect to see any more cherished players sold away in the middle of the night. He revealed that further restructuring is quite improbable in the foreseeable future. Instead, he stated that fans could expect to see a few fresh faces in the mix.

Mavericks To Strengthen The Squad

During a recent appearance on Run It Back, he said pairing Kyrie with AD gives them the potential for a championship run. And when they’re both healthy, the Mavs will run it back next season, he assured.

Curtis said, “In the offseason, this team is definitely going to need another point guard, another primary ball handler. You had something like that when you had Luka and Kyrie together…when one was hurt, the other could pick up the slack.”

It's unclear how long Kyrie will be out with his injury. According to Curtis, he might be out until the next All-Star break.

So, by acquiring those essential pieces, AD and Klay Thompson will be able to lead the charge until he returns. And, while Curtis has told supporters that AD will stay a Maverick for the foreseeable future, he isn't blind to the instability that the Mavericks have faced in recent weeks.
