It has been all downhill for the Phoenix Suns since the memorable 2021 NBA Finals. The franchise made drastic measures to acquire the services of Kevin Durant in the hopes of improving their prospects. However, the move did not pay dividends as they are languishing at the bottom surface of the Western Conference table and at a serious risk of missing the play-in tournament.

Rockets Interested in Kevin Durant and Devin Booker
The Suns tried to offload Durant during the trade deadline, but it fell through. So, the attention now shifts to the offseason, where both parties may part ways for good. In line with the same, NBA insider Sam Amick has reported that the Rockets are interested in signing both Kevin Durant and Devin Booker from the Suns.
The Suns may not get a player of Durant's stature and ability in return, but they will likely receive young talent and draft capital, which could be used to bring in fresh blood to the squad.
Amick made a guest appearance on FanDuel TV’s Run It Back to reveal the Suns’ struggles have opened up questions about their future concerning all players. Houston is among the teams willing to take advantage of that.
"It is now opening the door for anything and everything to be a possibility in Phoenix. ... We know the Houston's of the world have been looking at Devin Booker and KD," Amick said.

Durant and Suns Relationship Dented
Phoenix keeping Durant in the dark regarding the trade intentions has damaged their relationship. The two-time NBA champion would have signed with the Warriors had he not backed away in the 11th hour.
The Suns' willingness to trade Durant has somewhat opened the doors for all their star players to follow the path of Durant and potentially exit from the franchise.
Despite Booker being a local talent, Amick believes he could be sent away if an appropriate offer reaches the table.
