Shai Gilgeous-Alexander created history in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as he scored 52 points but the Golden State Warriors came back to defeat the Oklahoma City Thunders (116-109) on Wednesday. Gilgeous-Alexander had a super game after he posted 52 points, his second time crossing the 50 points mark as he registered his first 50-point game in the previous week against the Utah Jazz.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had an enormous game against the Warriors as he outscored them in the first quarter (21-20) and then entered the halftime with 31. He also becomes the fourth player in Thunder's history to go past the 30 points mark in the first half ever since the play-by-play data was first recorded.
Gilgeous-Alexander finished the night with 16-of-29 shooting from the field and 18-of-21 shooting from the free-throw line. He also registered four assists and three rebounds.
The Warriors saw themselves down 34-20 after the first quarter and then 58-48 at halftime. But, the Warriors soon caught the Thunders after a flurry of points in the third quarter. The game saw several lead changes midway through the fourth quarter as the Warriors built up a multi-score lead and kept it.
Stephen Curry scored 17 of his 21 points in the second half. There were question marks on his availability before the game as he sat out during Warrior's back-to-back starting Tuesday after battling sore knees and pain in his right thumb.
Andrew Wiggins led the scoring for the Warriors with 27 points on 10-of-17. The notable part from the game was that the Warriors bench had outscored the Thunder's 48-21. Thunders had a rough night when it came to shooting as they finished 9 of 39 from the 3-point range.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's 52-point game against the Golden State Warriors was his second time crossing the 50-point mark. Last week against the Utah Jazz, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander dropped a career-best 54-point game.
Gilgeous-Alexander became the first player this season to record multiple 50-plus points game. He joined Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant as the only players with multiple 50-point games in the history of the franchise. He also became the first Canadian-born player in the NBA to achieve this milestone.
Gilgeous-Alexander is having a great time this season and is also among the favorites to win the NBA MVP honors this year. He is averaging 32.1 points with 5.3 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 1.1 blocks and 2.1 steals as the Oklahoma City Thunders lead the Western Conference with a 37-9 record.
