The Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry just dropped a massive bomb regarding his retirement plans on Thursday when he was asked about his future with the franchise. He is currently enjoying the off season as he is playing in the celebrity golf tournament in Tahoe. On top of it, he didn't shy away from addressing the topic.

What did Stephen Curry say about his retirement?

During his appearance in Tahoe, Curry was asked on how many years he intends to play in the NBA. The 37-year-old point guard answered accordingly, stating that he will play out the remaining years on his contract and then will evaluate his future after that.

I don’t know. I’m just taking it two years at a time. That’s what I have left on my contract right now, Curry said, as quoted by Warriors reporters Anthony Slater.

Stephen Curry has still two years left on his contract with the Golden State Warriors. He has one year left on his four year, $215,353,664 deal, which is followed by an one year, $62,587,158 extension that begins in 2026.

Curry's comments on his retirement comes at a crucial time when the Golden State Warriors have rather taken a cautious approach in the off season. They are the only team which is yet to make any moves in the free agency.

Meanwhile, Curry's father, Dell Curry, offered an insight on his take about his son's retirement. He was asked about his son's future in the league and the former sharpshooter revealed that there's still one thing that Stephen wants to achieve.

He wants to win another title, so we’re not even close to that window yet, Dell said. But when the time comes, I think he’ll make the right decision.

Stephen Curry's pursuit for fifth NBA title was halted after he sustained an injury during the 2025 playoffs. As he is on the brink of entering his 17th season in the league next year, he will be fully determined to go for another championship.
