Big update on Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle's return

Talking to reporters on Tuesday. Johnson said that Wembanyama and Castle are not going with the team at the start of their road trip. The Coach confirmed that both players are doing well in rehabilitation.

"No flight tracking needed," Johnson said, according to Sports Illustrated. "It’s a long trip, so we will see where it goes. They are progressing. They just want to be around, whether they're able to be on the court or not, and they all want to be on the court as well. Sometimes we've got to save them from themselves and do what we think is what’s in (the) best interest for themselves and for the team."

Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle to  make return vs Lakers?

As per San Antonio Spurs reporter Matthew Tynan, Mitch Johnson added that the medical team has not ruled out Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle from making a comeback during the road trip.

John also claimed that both players are telling him that they want to get fit for their NBC Cup clash against the LA Lakers on December 10. However, he didn't confirm if it is the return timeline for both players because it's not his job to approve them from their injuries.

The San Antonio Spurs have gone 6-2 since Victor Wembanyama went on the sidelines. D'Aaron Fox and the rest of the team have been performing really well in Wembanyama's absence.
