Golden State Warriors Coach Steve Kerr Blames NBA For Stephen Curry's Injury
Disappointed over the loss, Warriors' head coach Steve Kerr has held NBA responsible for Curry's injury.
When asked, Steve Kerr attributed Curry's injury to the playoff schedule in a recent piece by Yahoo Sports' Tom Haberstroh.
"Kerr said he asked Rick Celebrini, the Warriors' director of sports medicine, if Curry's injury had “anything to do” with [playing 3 games in 5 days]. Celebrini responded emphatically: “One hundred percent (...), if he had an extra day or two… we can’t prove this, but I have no doubt based on our understanding of the scientific literature that the hamstring injury was the result of inadequate recovery and fatigue."
Overall, it was a topsy-turvy season for the Golden State Warriors as they started on a brilliant note and then suffered a string of losses. Following this, it seemed that everything was done and dusted for them. However, the arrival of Jimmy Butler improved their prospects, so much so that they reached the playoffs.
In the playoffs, they got the better of the Houston Rockets in Round 1 of the Western Conference Playoffs and looked set to further deep but one injury left them crippled and consequently, their season ended. Thus, they will have some takeaways from the season and may get back stronger next season.
