Victor Wembanyama returns to France after his campaign with the France Basketball team who took home the silver medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics. This time around, he returns as the San Antonio Spurs player as the team faced Indiana Pacers in two games in Paris, starting Thursday and Saturday. During the visit, the Spurs players visited some iconic sites including the Eiffel Tower.
What did Chris Paul tell to Victor Wembanyama during their visit to Eiffel Tower?
In a lighthearted moment, Chris Paul made fun of Victor Wembanyama's height and compared it to the Eiffel Tower while the team visited the iconic site on Friday. "It’s your twin, that’s what it is."
Both the superstars were seen posing with their teammates.
In the first game in Paris after the 2024 Summer Olympics, Wembanyama stole the show as he dropped 30 points along with 11 rebounds, six assists, one steal and five blocks to give the Spurs an easy win (140-110) over the Pacers.
On the other hand, Paul didn't have a good outing as he only managed three points but made sure he contributed with eight rebounds and seven assists. It was only the last offseason that Chris Paul joined the San Antonio Spurs, helping Wembanyama in the point guard spot.
Wembanyama has arguably become one of the best players in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as he averages 24.6 points, 10.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists and a league-leading 4.0 blocks per game. Wembanyama also shoots 35.4 per cent from the three-point line.
Victor Wembanyama says, 'It was a perfect evening'
Since his childhood, Wembanyama has caught the eye of everybody because of his height and how easily he can move. He has given so much to France after featuring for them in various international tournaments, including the 2024 Summer Olympics.
After the game against the Pacers on Thursday, Wembanyama said, "It was perfect. It was a perfect evening. We had the win, and we won the right way. Tonight was definitely different. It's a different kind of support that the crowd brings. We try to use the circumstances to our advantage every time, and tonight was an easy night to use that."
Wembanyama got the loudest cheer from fans when he was introduced during the pregame and also every time he touched the ball during the Pacers game. It will be a no-brainer to see the same kind of response when Wembanyama takes the court against the Pacers on Saturday.
