The Indiana Fever have announced the signing of Chloe Bibby on Friday to reinforce their lineup in their superstar Caitlin Clark's absence. Clark is continuing to recover from her groin injury and there is no timeline for her return.

Who is Chloe Bibby?

The 27-year-old can play both as a guard and forward. She signed a training camp contract with the Golden State Valkyries before the start of the 2025 season. She was waived a week before the Valkyries made their debut in the WNBA. Bibby returned in mid June after the team signed her to add depth to an already injury riddled team. Two weeks later, the Valkyries released Bibby once their injured players returned.

In five games for the Valkyries, Bibby averaged 6.4 points and 2.8 rebounds per game. She shot 42.1% from the deep which was the main reason that Indiana Fever signed her. Bibby's versatility could help Stephanie White be more creative with her starting lineups.

Before playing for the Valkyries, Bibby's first stint in the WNBA came in 2022. After being undrafted that year, she signed a training camp contract with the Minnesota Lynx. However, she was not able to earn a spot which forced her to return to Australia, to play pro basketball.

She played for the Spar Girona in Spain last year and won the league MVP. Her impressive performances in the Liga Femenina de Baloncesto earned her a training camp invite from the Golden State Valkyries. Before turning pro, she used to play for Mississippi State Bulldogs and the Maryland Terrapins.

Bibby has also represented Australia on the international stage and led them to a gold medal in the 2025 FIBA Women's Asia World Cup. She currently lives in Warracknabeal, Victoria. She is one of three children born to Leigh-Anne and Adrian Bibby. Not just this, she has even earned a degree in marketing in 2021.

The Fever signed someone. Better than nothing I guess, a fan mentioned.

Without the services if Caitlin Clark, the Indiana Fever are 1-1 after the All-Star break. They lost 98-84 on Tuesday against the New York Liberty but came back from behind to win 80-70 against the Las Vegas Aces on Thursday. Now, the Indiana Fever will be taking on Chicago Sky on Sunday.
