LeBron James’ son, Bronny James, has entered into a new relationship. The 19-year-old NBA rookie is dating Parker Whitfield, a 20-year-old whose parents are Dondré T. Whitfield, known for his role in All My Children, and Salli Richardson-Whitfield, from Eureka.
In celebration of National Boyfriend Day on October 3, Parker shared a sweet photo on her Instagram Story of herself and Bronny next to Mickey Mouse during a trip to Disneyland, captioning it, “BF day. i love you!”
Bronny reposted the picture, adding a crown emoji over Parker's head and responding, “I love you babyyyyy.”
How did the love story start
Although they attended high school together, romance rumors only started swirling in August when Parker was seen courtside with Bronny at a men’s basketball game during the 2024 Paris Olympics. They were joined by Bronny’s younger brother, Bryce James, and Bryce's girlfriend, Sadie Johnson, while cheering on their dad, LeBron, and Team USA as they faced Serbia.
Family holds great significance for Bronny, especially since he was drafted into the Los Angeles Lakers in June, making them the first father-son duo to play in the NBA simultaneously.
Reflecting on this historic moment, LeBron expressed, "Pure joy. Just super proud of him to get to this point. He's a man, and he's ready to go."
As for Bronny—whose full name is LeBron James Jr.—he's setting some boundaries, stating that calling his dad “Dad” while on the court is not in the cards. “I haven’t gotten there yet,” he joked about finding an alternative nickname. "It’s probably going to be ‘Bron.’ Bron would be the easiest."
Meanwhile, Parker is dedicating her time to her studies as a sophomore at Spelman College, and her parents couldn't be more thrilled.
Dondré shared his excitement in an August Instagram post, saying, “We are so excited that Parker has chosen @spelman_college as her 'great experience.' It will undoubtedly offer her a top-tier education, sisterhood, and citizenship.”
Her mom, Salli, added, “Time has gone by way too fast. I know she’s ready but I’m going to miss my baby.”
Bronny's Debut
LeBron James watched from the bench as his son, Bronny James, made his NBA preseason debut for the LA Lakers on Friday. The 19-year-old played 16 minutes in a 124-107 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, showcasing some potential with two points. Bronny entered the game in the second quarter, playing through the first half and most of the fourth. After missing his initial five shots, he finally scored a layup with less than a minute remaining, earning cheers from the crowd at Acrisure Arena.
