Why Luka Doncic can miss game against Washington Wizards? Here's all you need to know
Luka Doncic in the frame.

Story Highlights:

Dončić hurt his ankle after slipping into a gap on an elevated court against Cleveland but managed to return after treatment.

Austin Reaves has been upgraded to questionable as he nears a return from a calf injury, while Adou Thiero remains sidelined.

LA Lakers star Luka Doncic might miss Friday's clash against the Washington Wizards. Doncic was placed as "questionable" on the team's injury report following Thursday's practice. The Slovenian point guard was diagnosed with left ankle soreness after he almost  faced a big injury in the previous game against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday.

What happened to Luka Doncic?

The Cavaliers were playing on an elevated court 10 inches off the ground. After trying a shot and stepping backwards, Doncic's left leg slipped into the gap, causing him to fall on the floor with extreme pain. Grimacing right away, the Lakers guard was forced to exit the game shortly. Later, he returned and rejoined the game after getting treatment from the medical team.

As it turns out, Doncic was still feeling pain in his ankle, and his status for the game against Wizard confirmed ahead of tipoff. The Lakers hope Doncic recovers in tin and gets available to lead the team on Friday, especially after a 30-point loss against the Cavaliers.

Latest update in Austin Reaves

Other than Luka Doncic, the Lakers placed two more players on the injury report. Austin Reaves was changed to "questionable" as he inches closer to making his return after missing 17 straight games with a left calf strain.

Latest update on Adou Thiero

On the other hand, rookie Adou Thiero still has not fully recovered from his right MCL sprain. There is no timeline for his return just yet.
