What did Jimmy Butler post on his X account after Golden State Warriors move

NBA insider Shams Charania on Wednesday, February 5 took to his X account (formerly known as Twitter) that Miami Heat has agreed to part ways with Jimmy Butler after he was traded to the Golden State Warriors. As the post saw daylight, it ended months of speculations about where Butler would head next after he recently mentioned he didn't want to play for the Heat.

It took not more than half an hour for Butler to respond to the news.

Welcome to the wild wild west

The move took everybody by surprise after Charania and Brian Windhorst had reported news that the deal might have broken between the Heat and the Warriors. They further reported that Butler wouldn't sign an extension if Pat Riley had sent him to the Bay Area. Still, the Warriors managed to somehow pull off a miracle as they went through with the deal and signed one of the best playoff performers in recent years.

Jimmy Butler wanted to compete for the championships regularly regardless of where he might end up. Now, he gets his wish done as he joins hands with the Golden State Warriors, where he will get to share the dressing room with Draymond Green, Jonathan Kuminga, Brandin Podziemski, Buddy Hield and two-time MVP Stephen Curry.

Only time will tell whether Butler proves to be a game-changer for the Warriors as Curry and Kerr eye their fifth championship.
