The Golden State Warriors' championship aspirations for the 2025-26 season have effectively ended, with the team holding a 29-27 record and sitting eighth in the Western Conference standings amid ongoing injuries and roster limitations

To make it worse, Stephen Curry remains sidelined with right knee patella-femoral pain syndrome and bone bruising, despite a clean MRI showing no structural damage, and faces re-evaluation in 10 days after missing his sixth consecutive game.

Amid the ongoing struggles with the Warriors, Kendrick Perkins became brutally honest as he revealed his thoughts on Curry winning another possible championship for the Warriors.

Former Celtics star’s brutally honest admission on Curry’s possibility of winning 5th ring with Warriors

During a recent episode of First Take, Kendrick Perkins, on whether Curry can win ring No. 5 with the Warriors, said:

"The days of Steph Curry actually having a shot of winning another championship in Golden State, those days are over."

Perkins also added:

“Because I'm gonna say this, [Shai Gilgeous-Alexander] -- he ain't going nowhere. Anthony Edwards not going nowhere. [Victor Wembenyama], [Nikola Jokic], all of these guys, [Luka Doncic], are still in the Western Conference.”

Meanwhile, the Western Conference features dominant contenders like the Oklahoma City Thunder and Denver Nuggets, and realistic expectations for Golden State have shifted toward securing a play-in spot rather than mounting a legitimate Finals run.

The Warriors’ season this year is not going as expected, with them standing 8th in the conference.  They were recently defeated by the Celtics with a score of 110-121 in the absence of star guard Curry. Steve Kerr’s side will next face the Denver Nuggets next week.
