Philadelphia 76ers' rookie VJ Edgecombe could possibly miss his first-ever NBA game against the Miami Heat on Sunday. The guard was added to the injury list with left calf tightness, after the 7ers' win against the Bucks on Thursday.
VJ Edgecombe to suit up vs Miami Heat?
Edgecombe has started all 15 of Philadelphia's games in the ongoing season and has emerged as one of their best performers after Tyrese Maxey, averaging 15.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game. He is also shooting 42.3% from the field at home while logging 36.0 minutes per game.
However, the guard is under check before their game against the Heat as he continues to recover from his calf injury. He will be allowed to participate in Sunday's shootaround, and his status for the game will be determined accordingly.
Latest update on Joel Embiid, Kelly Oubre Jr and Adem Bona
Joel Embiid, Kelly Oubre Jr, and Adem Bona also feature on the injury report. Oubre remains on the sidelines with an LCL sprain suffered during the 76ers' 114-105 loss to the Detroit Pistons earlier this month and is expected to miss at least two weeks.
Adem Bona last played against the Pistons and has been on the sidelines with an ankle injury. Meanwhile Joel Embiid continues to deal with a knee problem.
