Ambati Rayudu recently talked about the difference between the culture of the Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians franchises. However, he believes his remarks were taken in a wrong way and he was not criticising the atmosphere in the MI camp. Rayudu made a remark that your ‘brain will explode’ if you play too much for MI and it created a huge buzz as he is one of the very few players to have represented both franchises in the Indian Premier League.
Rayudu's statement on MI's culture
Rayudu told how CSK believes in the process and the difference in MI camp is that winning is a must for them.
"I feel CSK has a much better environment. MI mey jydada khelne se brain phat jayega (Your brain will explode if you play long for MI). When I used to play for MI, my game improved a lot. If you had not won the match, they do not see an excuse. At the end of the day, you have to perform. MI has an environment where you keep getting better and CSK has an environment where you will get better without any hassle," Rayudu told ESPNCricinfo.
"CSK focuses more on the process. They do not analyse results much. Their mood and mood swings are not because of the results. MI is bit different. MI mostly want to win and their culture is like everything depends on winning. They have a culture of, jeetna hi hai (Win is a must). Winning is non-negotiable. Both CSK and MI have two different cultures but at the end of thr day, both work hard," he added.
Rayudu issues clarification
Now, Rayudu believes his remark was taken in the wrong way and he has learned a lot during his days with the Mumbai Indians. He said cherish his 8 years spent with Mumbai Indians and even asked them to some games really fast.
"My comments were taken out of context about Mumbai Indians. All I meant was mi’s processes are different and there is positive pressure in which a player is forged ,excels and becomes into a complete player, track record shows the kind of talent that Mi has produced for india. I have loved my 8 years being at mi..am ever grateful..@mipaltan please win some games fast," Rayudu tweeted.
