Pakistan cricket team has suffered a big blow ahead of their opening game against the United States of America in the ongoing edition of the T20 World Cup 2024 which will be played at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, on June 6 (Thursday). Their star all-rounder Imad Wasim who recently made a u-turn from retirement has been ruled out of the match due to a side strain.
PCB confirms Imad Wasim's unavailability
Pakistan Cricket Board or PCB revealed that Imad Wasim would not be available for selection for the Thursday showdown against the USA as the medical team has advised him to rest.
"Imad Wasim will not be available for selection for Thursday’s match as he has been advised rest by the PCB Medical Team," PCB said.
Imad Wasim was not also available for the fourth and final T20I against England in the recently concluded series after experiencing pain in his right rib cage while batting in the nets ahead of the fourth T20I against England last month in London. Keeping him out of the USA clash also appears to be a precautionary method, so things don't get worse for the star player and he is available for the crucial clash against arch-rivals India, on June 9 (Sunday).
