Scheduled to commence on June 2, the T20 World Cup 2024 will be hosted across various locations in the United States and the West Indies. During the 2024 T20 World Cup group stages, India are slated to face off against Pakistan, Ireland, Canada, and the tournament co-host, USA. Rohit Sharma will captain the Indian team in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 as confirmed by Jay Shah, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary. Moreover, Hardik Pandya will serve as Rohit Sharma's deputy in the marquee tournament.
The T20 World Cup 2024 will start with a match between the USA and Canada on June 2, with the final showdown scheduled for June 29 in Barbados. A highlight of the tournament will be the much-awaited clash between India and Pakistan in New York City on June 9.

Two Warm-up games for each team
Meanwhile, in a big update, Sports Tak has learnt that each team will also have the option of playing two warm-up games depending on arrival time to the T20 World Cup 2024. It's totally upto them whether they want to play two matches or settle with just one ahead of the big tournament. However,
Notably, any team's squad may comprise of 15 players and must be announced by May 1. However, changes can be made till May 25 but any thing after that must be approved by the ICC Technical Committee. Also an announcement on prize money will come in due course.
T20 World Cup 2024 format
The ICC T20 World Cup in 2024 will feature 20 teams that have qualified for the tournament. These teams are divided into four groups, with each group containing five teams. The table toppers from each group will proceed to the Super 8 Round. In this round, the qualified teams will be organised into two groups of four. The best-performing teams from these groups will advance to the knockout phase. Teams who will excel in the knockout phase will eventually progress to the semifinals and then the title clash.
