Finally, Pakistan team's concerns has been heard and their travel woes has been resolved. Following intervention by PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi, ICC relocated the Pakistan team to a new hotel, confirmed a source privy to the development. Babar Azam's brigade's new hotel is much closer, situated just a five-minute drive from the stadium located on Long Island in Westbury, New York. This will significantly reduce travel time and ensure the team can focus on preparation for their crucial matches, including the highly anticipated clash against India on Sunday, June 9.
The ongoing T20 World Cup has seen some controversy surrounding team hotels, particularly in New York City. While the Indian team, playing all their group matches there, enjoys the convenience of a hotel just 10 minutes from the stadium, other teams haven't been so lucky. Sri Lanka, who were comprehensively bowled out for a mere 77 runs against South Africa in their opening match, have expressed frustration about their hotel location. Situated over an hour away from the New York venue, this long commute adds unnecessary strain and travel fatigue to the team. Meanwhile, Pakistan, who play their first group game against co-host United States in Dallas on Thursday, June 6, have benefitted from the concerns raised by the PCB.
