IPL 2023: Punjab Kings re-appoint legendary India player as batting coach; bowling & fielding coaches also announced
Punjab Kings (PBKS) have re-appointed former India Test legend Wasim Jaffer as their batting coach for the imminent Indian Premier League's (IPL) 2023 after a gap of one year.
Jaffer was the batting coach of Punjab Kings between 2019 to 2021 but stepped down from his role before the 2022 auction. Last year, Punjab Kings had hired a power-hitting coach Julion Ross Wood.
However, he will again be back in the Punjab dugout for the upcoming season.
"Jiska tha besabri se intezaar (The one you had been waiting for), introducing our Batting Coach, Wasim Jaffer!," Punjab Kings tweeted from their official handle.
Former Australian wicketkeeper-batter Brad Haddin has been appointed as the new assistant coach of the franchise, while former South African speedster Charl Langeveldt is the team's new bowling coach.
Wasim Jaffer is a former Indian opener who represented Royal Challengers Bangalore in the inaugural IPL season. Jaffer has worked as a batting coach for Uttarakhand and Odisha at the domestic level.
