Chennai Super Kings (CSK) made Sameer Rizvi the most expensive uncapped buy of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction on December 19. The decision-makers of the Yellow Army forked out a monumental sum of Rs 8.40 crore for the 20-year-old batter hailing from Uttar Pradesh. Overall, in the cash-rich tournament history, Rizvi became the seventh-most expensive uncapped purchase.

Ahead of the auction, ex-India all-rounder Raina shed some light on Rizvi and what the 20-year-old could bring to the table for any franchise.
"Sameer Rizvi has a different intent in his batting. He would get a lot of confidence if he gets to play for an UP team. He is a Badoni-type player but plays with a straighter bat," Raina said on Jio Cinema.
