Delhi Capitals are languishing at the bottom of the standings with an unfavorable net run rate.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain KL Rahul won the all-important toss and elected to bat first against the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) match on April 12 (Friday). LSG made one change with Arshad Khan replacing Mayank Yadav. Kuldeep Yadav and Mukesh Kumar returned to the playing XI for DC.

Lucknow Super Giants Playing XI: Quinton de Kock, KL Rahul(w/c), Devdutt Padikkal, Marcus Stoinis, Nicholas Pooran, Ayush Badoni, Krunal Pandya, Arshad Khan, Ravi Bishnoi, Naveen-ul-Haq, Yash Thakur

Delhi Capitals Playing XI: Prithvi Shaw, David Warner, Shai Hope, Rishabh Pant(w/c), Tristan Stubbs, Axar Patel, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Kuldeep Yadav, Mukesh Kumar, Ishant Sharma, Khaleel Ahmed

LSG, comfortably positioned in third place, is facing challenges such as the absence of rookie pacer Mayank Yadav, who suffered an abdominal strain. Despite his impressive pace of over 150 kmph, Yadav could only bowl one over in his last outing before the injury. Nevertheless, LSG's deep bowling arsenal remains formidable, highlighted by Yash Thakur's impressive five-wicket performance against the Gujarat Titans. The squad is further bolstered by Naveen-ul-Haq, Krunal Pandya, and Ravi Bishnoi.

In contrast, the Delhi Capitals seem to struggle with a coherent strategy, suffering significant losses to the Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians recently. These defeats have left them languishing at the bottom of the standings with an unfavorable net run rate. For DC to challenge LSG's strong batting, their bowlers must step up and deliver.
