Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir are two of the biggest names in the cricketing world and both of them are known for their strong aggression on the cricketing field. During the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League Kohli and Gambhir got into an ugly spat during the LSG vs RCB match that became a huge topic of discussion. However, both cricketers got over their differences and shared a hug following the IPL 2024 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Kolkata Knight Riders. Virat finally broke his silence on the incident and said fans are quite disappointed with him for burying the hatchet with KKR mentor and Gambhir and Afghanistan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq.
Virat Kohli breaks silence on hugging Gautam Gambhir
RCB's star batter Virat Kohli opened up on how fans are disappointed with him because they have lost the ‘masala’ now that he has ended his feuds with Gautam Gambhir and Naveen-ul-Haq.
"People are very disappointed with my behaviour. I hugged Naveen, and then the other day, Gauti bhai [Gautam Gambhir came and hugged me. Your masala is over so you're booing. We're not kids anymore," said Kohli during a PUMA event.
Virat's epic run in IPL 2024
Virat Kohli's performance with bat has been the only silver lining for RCB in IPL 2024. He is currently leading the run-scoring charts with 316 runs in 5 matches and has a spectacular astonishing average of 105.33. The batter has also been on the target of strike rate criticism but his tournament strike rate has been 146.30 so far.
RCB is currently at the 9th spot on the points table after losing four of their five matches and are currently on a three-match losing skid. They will have the opportunity to return to the winning ways as they face Mumbai Indians in match 25 of the IPL 2024 at the Wankhede Stadium, on April 11.
