Ruturaj Gaikwad has grabbed his hands on IPL 2024's Orange Cap.
Ruturaj Gaikwad has replaced Virat Kohli from top spot in IPL 2024's leading run-scorers' list.
The race for the Orange Cap in IPL 2024 has seen a shift in leadership. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, after scoring 62 runs against Punjab Kings on May 1, has climbed to the top of the run-scoring charts, surpassing Royal Challengers Bangalore's Virat Kohli. However, CSK fell short as PBKS secured a comfortable win by seven wickets. Just a few days ago, Virat Kohli had reached the 500-run mark in the tournament with a brilliant 70 against Gujarat Titans on April 28. Meanwhile, in the same match, young Gujarat Titans batter Sai Sudharsan maintained his impressive form, scoring 84 runs off just 49 balls and holding onto the third position in the Orange Cap race.
Further down the list, both KL Rahul (Lucknow Super Giants) and Rishabh Pant (Delhi Capitals) have managed to retain their respective positions as the fourth and fifth highest run-scorers in the league. KL Rahul recently entered the top five with his 28-run knock against Mumbai Indians on April 30.
Here is the updated list of batters who are in the orange cap race after CSK vs PBKS's clash:
