The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the 15-member Indian squad that will compete under the leadership of Rohit Sharma in the upcoming edition of the T20 World Cup 2024 which is set to be held in the USA and West Indies. However, Rising young star Rinku Singh (in reserves) and number-6 ranked T20I bowler Ravi Bishnoi could not find a spot for themselves in the Men in Blue side despite their consistent performance in International cricket. Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan has questioned the board's decision to not add them in the line-up.
Irfan Pathan questions BCCI for snubbing Rinku Singh and Ravi Bishnoi
Rinku has 356 runs from just 11 T20I innings. He also impressive strike rate of 176.23 and an astonishing average of 89. On the other hand, Ravi Bishnoi is currently ranked number 6 in the ICC T20I rankings. However, it appears that they couldn't find a spot for themselves in the line-up due to their underwhelming performance in the ongoing season of IPL 2024. Irfan Pathan has still questioned BCCI's decision to snub them from the 15-member squad.
“If I am Sitting pretty at 6th in the ICC T20i rankings, but not in the World Cup lineup, it’s a tough pill to swallow. #Ravibishnoi,” tweeted Irfan.
"I think Rinku Singh’s recent past performance for Team India shouldn’t have been ignored," Irfan wrote in his other tweet.
