Royal Challengers Bengaluru will be competing against Chennai Super Kings in an extremely crucial clash that will decide the fourth team qualifying for the playoffs in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, on May 18 (Saturday). Ahead of the big RCB vs CSK clash MS Dhoni's new bowling avatar is making a lot of buzz on the internet.
MS Dhoni to bowl vs RCB?
MS Dhoni was seen bowling in the nets in the practice session ahead of the match against RCB. Chennai posted a video of the former CSK captain from their official ‘X’ account formerly known as Twitter. The clip is now going viral all across the social space.
Fans are speculating if Dhoni would take up the bowling role as well in Chennai's final league stage match. However, it is very unlikely as the legendary cricketer is already dealing with knee and back issues and the team doesn't have any other wicket-keeping option with them. He has been seen bowling in the nets couple of times before as well but has never taken the role in an actual IPL match.
Playoff spot on the line
The clash between RCB and CSK gets a lot bigger as the team winning this clash will most likely finish in the top four. Currently, Chennai is at the number four spot and RCB at six but if the Bengaluru side manages to beat CSK by 18 runs or chase their target in 18.1 overs (If they post 200 runs), they will take Super Kings' spot in the top four.
This match also has a lot of buzz around it as it could potentially be MS Dhoni's final match in IPL if CSK does not make it into the playoffs. The legendary cricketer played his role of finisher in an astonising fashion this season and has provided fans with some really good memories.
