Former India's opener Aakash Chopra and ex-England captain Michael Vaughan harshly criticised Pakistan team following their embarrassing defeat to Bangladesh in the opening Test of the series. The Shan Masood-led side suffered a shocking loss to Najmul Hossain Shanto's team in the first Test at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. After four days, the match seemed destined for a draw, but on the final day, Bangladesh's spinners turned the game around and secured a crucial victory, boosting their position in the ICC World Test Championship Points Table.

In the first innings of the match, Pakistan lost three wickets for 16 runs after being asked to bat first on Day 1. However, Saud Shakeel (141) and Mohammad Rizwan (171) steadied the innings and guided Pakistan to a respectable total of 448/6d. With the ball, Pakistan's bowlers struggled to take wickets. They faced particular difficulty against Mushfiqur Rahim, who scored a brilliant 191 runs, while Shadman Islam (93) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (77) also contributed significantly to Bangladesh's total of 565 runs. In their third innings, Pakistan's batting collapsed, and they were dismissed for a disappointing 146 runs. Bangladesh was presented with a small target of 30 runs to chase and comfortably achieved it with a 10-wicket victory.

After the match, Aakash Chopra took to X to mock the hosts. He sarcastically commented that it's rare for a team to lose after declaring their first innings with over 400 runs and four wickets remaining. He added that "Pakistan cricket is a gift that keeps giving."

Meanwhile, Vaughan also criticised the Pakistan team, stating that they are in a state of disarray. He praised Bangladesh for their impressive victory over the hosts.
"What a great win for Bangladesh .. !! high-quality performance .. Pakistan really is in a mess .. #PAKvBAN," Michael Vaughan stated on X.
In the ICC World Test Championship Points Table, Team India holds the top position with a PCT of 68.52, followed by the Australia at the second spot with a PCT of 62.50. Following their victory over Pakistan, Bangladesh have climbed to the No. 6 position with a PCT of 40.00. Conversely, the Pakistan National Cricket Team has dropped to the No. 8 position with a PCT of 30.56.
