What happened between Burger and Virat Kohli?
When India toured South Africa in December last year, left-arm pacer Nandre Burger gave a tough time to Indian batters. Be it in limited-overs or red-ball format, Burger challenged the Indian batter with his probing lengths. In the second Test between India and South Africa in Cape Town, Burger tried to get under the skin of Virat Kohli.
Kohli didn't hold back either. On one occasion, the Indian superstar was heard saying on the stump mic "Tereko 30 runs marunga ek over mai." The video went viral on the internet instantly.
Burger was bought for Rs 50 lakhs
Rajasthan Royals acquired the services of Burger in the mini-auction that was held in December 2023. The franchise bought Burger for his base price of Rs 50 lakhs. Considering how Burger has faired in his brief career so far, Rajasthan Royals got a bargain on the South Africa pacer.
Burger has played 57 T20s in his career so far, picking 66 wickets at an economy rate of 7.37. The 28-year-old will have a great opportunity to elevate his status when he represents Rajasthan Royals in the IPL.
