Ravindra Jadeja's hamstring injury ruled him out of the 2nd Test against England.

India's celebrated all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is working on his recovery at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru following a hamstring injury he sustained on the fourth day of the first Test against England in Hyderabad.

On his social media account, Jadeja shared a video of himself training, showcasing his running and showcasing his determination to return to the game. The 34-year-old, in his Instagram post, wrote, "I am a rider. Don't give up."

Jadeja's hamstring injury ruled him out of the second Test against England, while KL Rahul was also sidelined due to discomfort in his right quadriceps.

Who will fill Jadeja's shoes?

Jadeja's injury was a big blow to Rohit Sharma-led India, who suffered a 28-run defeat in the first Test against England and will now have to compete without key players like Virat Kohli and KL Rahul. Meanwhile, Sarfaraz Khan, Saurabh Kumar, and Washington Sundar was inlcuded in India's squad for the second Test against England.

Will India feel Jadeja's absence in the 2nd Test?

Jadeja's contribution to the first Test was pivotal, with an impressive 87 runs in the first innings contributing to India's 190-run lead, along with securing a total of 5 wickets during the match. His dismissal during the fourth innings chase of a 231-run target, run out by an exceptional throw from England's captain Ben Stokes, was a moment marked by Jadeja's immediate concern for his hamstring. Following the BCCI's announcement of replacements for Jadeja and Rahul, the all-rounder proceeded to the NCA for rehabilitation.

Facing an England team riding high from their opening Test win, a weakened Indian squad aims for redemption in Vizag. In the void left by Jadeja, either Washington Sundar or Kuldeep Yadav may join India's playing XI. Notably, Jadeja also missed the 2021 home Test series against England due to a thumb fracture.
