“It's tough but that is why I would like to highlight the experience we have, blows count for nothing. When you play in places like SA, AUS, we have to overcome the challenges. We thrive in these difficult moments. It's the WC, so nothing can get bigger than this,” Rohit Sharma said in the pre-match press-conference.
Rohit gave another injury scare ahead of the India vs Pakistan clash during Men in Blue's practice session on June 7 in New York. A delivery from one of the team's throwdown specialists took a sharp bounce and struck him on the hand. The Indian physiotherapists quickly attended to him, prompting a brief pause in the batting practice. Thankfully, the setback appeared minor, and Rohit Sharma, ever the determined player, brushed off the discomfort and continued batting.

India captain Rohit also said that playing good cricket will hold the key in the high-pressure match between the arch-rivals. The Nassau County International Cricket Stadium's pitch in New York, where Rohit's brigade played their campaign opener against Ireland, has already drawn a lot of flak for its uneven and slow outfield. Rohit also touched base on the pitch conditions.
"Playing good cricket holds the key. We have spoken about the conditions here. And have plans in place. We will try to give our best. There is lot of experience in our changing room. Making the right decision will be key," he further added.
