Sarfaraz Khan made his Test debut in the 3rd Test against England in Rajkot.

Anand Mahindra, Chairperson of Mahindra & Mahindra, has extended a generous offer to cricketer Sarfaraz Khan's father, Naushad, presenting him with a Thar SUV as a token of appreciation for his role as an inspirational father.

"Hard work. Courage. Patience. What better qualities than those for a father to inspire in a child? For being an inspirational parent, it would be my privilege & honour if Naushad Khan would accept the gift of a Thar," the chairperson shared on X.

Anil Kumble presented Sarfaraz with his Test Cap

26-year-old Sarfaraz received his Test cap from Anil Kumble during the third Test between India and England in Rajkot on February 15. It marked a significant triumph for his wife, brother, family, and particularly his father, who couldn't contain his tears witnessing his son become an Indian cricketer. The years of relentless hard work, grinding it out in the Ranji Trophy season after season, and enduring the agonisingly long wait had finally paid off. The father-son duo had harboured this dream for years, and Sarfaraz made it even sweeter with a stellar half-century on debut.

Naushad, employed with the Western Railways, hails from a modest background. From selling toffees and cucumbers on moving trains to make ends meet by selling track pants, Naushad faced numerous challenges but ensured his son made a mark for himself. From a young age, Sarfaraz received unwavering support from his father, who stood by him through thick and thin at every step of the journey. Despite facing setbacks when runs weren't rewarded, Naushad remained the pillar of strength, never allowing Sarfaraz's spirits to falter.

What a Debut

Sarfaraz entered the field when India lost their fourth wicket at a score of 237, following Rohit Sharma's dismissal after a partnership of 204 runs with Ravindra Jadeja.
The 26-year-old hit 9 boundaries and a six on his way to scoring 62 runs off 66 balls. Sarfaraz showed no hesitation in playing lofted shots against the spinners, confidently dispatching them to all corners of the ground.
