In his unbeaten knock of 128 balls, Glenn Maxwell muscled 21 fours and 10 sixes.

Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan tried to emulate Glenn Maxwell's outrageous shots in the nets ahead of the Men in Green's crunch game against England. In a video shared by the ICC, Shadab Khan can be seen playing explosive shots without moving his feet and letting his hands do all the work. Fast bowler Haris Rauf turned instructor for Shadab as the fast bowler can be seen shadow practicing the shots.

Maxwell played one of the greatest knocks in cricket history when he single-handedly propelled Australia to an improbable win over Afghanistan at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Australia were reeling at 91/7 at one stage and at that moment, it appeared as if Afghanistan's victory was certain. Maxwell, however, had different plans.

The explosive right-handed batter countered Afghanistan pacers and spinners nonchalantly. Despite suffering cramps and excruciating pain, Maxwell's willpower came to the fore as he stood and delivered for his team, unlike any batter in the past.

After a point of time, Maxwell could barely move his feet as he was badly cramped up. He decided to swing his hands through the ball and whenever he connected, the ball either raced to the boundary cushion or sailed into stands.

It was ball-striking of the highest order, something that even defied logic. Maxwell, stationary in one position with both legs firmly perched on the ground, swung his willow like a golf club. He kept swinging and the ball kept flying into the stands.

Chasing a 292-run target, Maxwell alone scored 201 runs and ended the game with a six over long leg. In his unbeaten knock of 128 balls, the Aussie batter muscled 21 fours and 10 sixes and batted with a strike rate of 157.03.

It was Maxwell's third century in the ODI World Cup but, rest assured, it was arguably the greatest ODI knock of all time.
