Virat Kohli breaks silence on his retirement
While Virat Kohli is currently on fire at 35, there are hints that his time in limited-overs cricket might be nearing its end. Speculation suggests he could retire from ODIs and T20Is after the T20 World Cup. This move would prioritise his Test career and allow him more time for family. Cricket experts believe Kohli's fitness allows him to potentially play Test cricket for a few more years. However, even the most legendary careers must end eventually. Kohli has mostly avoided discussing retirement, but he recently hinted at his future plans. He stated a desire to finish his career without regrets, giving his all while he still plays. He also suggested a period of absence from the spotlight once he is done playing.
“It’s very simple. I think as a sportsman, we do have a end date to our careers. So I am just going backwards. I don't want to finish my career thinking: ‘Oh what if I have done this on that particular day’ because I can’t keep going one and on forever. So It’s just about not leaving any undone business behind and not having any regrets later, which I am very sure of I won’t. Once I am done, I will be gone, you won’t see me for a while. So I want to give my everything till the time I play and that’s the only thing that keeps me going,” said Kohli in a video posted by RCB.
