In the third T20I between India and Australia, Maxwell's performance further solidified his reputation as a formidable force in cricket. He has been enhancing his stature as one of cricket's most aggressive hitters since his participation in the World Cup 2023. Although he started the tournament somewhat tentatively, Maxwell quickly found his groove, especially evident in his match against the Netherlands at New Delhi's Arun Jointly Stadium.

In that game, Maxwell achieved a record-breaking feat by scoring the fastest century in World Cup history, completing his hundred in just 40 balls. This performance left the Dutch bowlers scrambling and contributed significantly to Australia's massive victory margin of over 300 runs. However, Maxwell didn't stop there. His remarkable unbeaten 201 against Afghanistan at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium is now etched as one of ODI cricket's most extraordinary innings.

Facing a challenging target of 292 and with Australia struggling at 97 for seven, Maxwell's innings seemed improbable. Yet, despite battling cramps and physical discomfort, he unleashed a torrent of powerful shots against the Afghan bowlers, single-handedly steering Australia to victory.

Following his World Cup heroics, Maxwell continued his exceptional form in the T20I series against India. While he had a quiet game in Trivandrum, he roared back to form in Guwahati. With the series at a critical juncture, Maxwell's fourth T20I century played a pivotal role in Australia securing one of their highest successful T20I run-chases.

Needing 21 runs off the final over, Maxwell's masterful batting saw him hit Prasidh Krishna to all parts of the ground. His winning stroke, a stylish whip down the ground for four, not only sealed the victory but also saw him equal Rohit Sharma's record for the most centuries in Men's T20Is.

Though Maxwell will be absent from the fourth and fifth T20Is, his contributions in 2023 have been invaluable to the Australian team. Looking ahead, he is set to bring his electrifying style of play to the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League (BBL). Fans and cricket enthusiasts can certainly look forward to more thrilling performances from this exceptional player as the year progresses.
